“she tackles largely traditional song with a full-blooded ardour that‘ll come as a shock to those weaned on the flaky New Age nonsense sold to us as Celtic music through most of the ’90s. The other is Boyle‘s ability to communicate...few are making records as good as “Gweebarra”, her best to date.“ - Duck Baker, DIRTY LINEN “exquisite singing” - Mel Howley, LIVING TRADITION
Through her ballads, she continues the tradition of storytelling passed on by her Irish family. She has accrued a wide catalogue of live and recorded work, such as film soundtracks (including “Patriot Games” title track) and international theatre and folk circuit appearances. Maggie has worked with James Horner, The Chieftains, Bert Jansch, Rambert Dance Company, Steve Tilston, John Renbourn and Incantation.
